When the news came out last month that AMPHENOL was staying in Sidney, nobody was more pleased than this Sidney boy! Before Amphenol some remember it as ALLIED or BENDIX. When I was a kid it was called SCINTILLA. In its heyday our little factory played a big part in a lot of history!
See for yourself.....

"Rest in Peace....
The Brightest Stars in Heaven"

Jackie Gleason (1916-1987)
is buried at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Miami, Florida
A big, blustery comic who found fame and fortune in the early days of television. Jackie and his "Honeymooners" were a beloved part of every American family throughout the 1950s. Art Carney, Audrey Meadows and Joyce Randolph made the Kramdens and the Nortons feel like our very own next door neighbors. Jackie was a mainstay on television for four decades. Considered the consummate physical comedian, Orson Wells dubbed Gleason "The Great One." His last TV appearance was on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson a few months before his death at the age of 71. A bronze statue of Jackie's portrayal of bus driver Ralph Kramden stands in front of the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City.
Notice his most popular phrase is inscribed on his gravestone:
"And away we go!"
